Samuel Ligon received an MA from the University of New Hampshire, and an MFA from New School University. His novel, Safe in Heaven Dead, was published by Harper Collins in 2003, and his short fiction has appeared in The Quarterly, StoryQuarterly, Manoa, Other Voices, Cimarron Review, Post Road,
Alaska Quarterly Review, The Empty Page: An Anthology of Fiction Inspired by Sonic Youth, and The Flash: An Anthology of Short Fiction, among other places. A recipient of a 2005 Artists Trust/Washington State Arts Commission Fellowship, Sam is also the editor of Willow Springs, which published Pushcart Prize winning fiction in 2005 and 2006.
